I want a carousel

The Barstow City Council just gave $100,000 dollars to the Chamber of Commerce to promote business and tourism in the area. The chamber has to match that money, doubling its available funds. One might wonder how the chamber plans to spend $200,000 dollars over the next two years. The answer? Disposable place mats and a campaign to draw in “mural aficionados.”
I decided to research other tourism related things that this money could pay for. All of the following things are available for purchase online:
- 40 seater trackless train: $55,000
- 5 month old tiger: $13,400
- Theme park sized water slide: $40,000
- Carousel: $75,000
- Arcade games: average $3,000 each
We could have an entire boardwalk carnival thing going on somewhere close to the Harvey House. We would have the historical appeal, and modern attractions. I think that would bring in more people to the area than softball tournaments and coupons.

That is really neat to think about what $100,000 can buy. I especially, like the 5 month old tiger and the carousel.
Neat!
